Today, I wrote a blog piece for the Potomac Review introducing Robert Giron as our new senior poetry editor. I’m excited that Robert has decided to work with me on issue 51, selecting poetry, and I wanted to tell you a little more about him.
Robert is a full-time professor at Montgomery College’s Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus. Currently, he serves as the English Department Chair. He is also the founder of the award-winning Gival Press, which publishes a diverse catalogue of fiction and poetry books. Also, Robert edits and publishes Arlijo, Arlington Literary Journal, an online magazine.
Robert is a kind, funny, and personable character. We shared a table at last month’s AWP conference, which turned out to be a real delight. I have read with him at readings at the Rockville campus, and he has hosted and will host more readings for us at his campus and elsewhere. I’m excited to have Robert on board at the Potomac Review, and I look forward to seeing the poetry he selects.
